Your Barcelona Holiday: Excellent Food and Nightlife and a Vibrant Gay Neighborhood

By Bill Malcolm

Barcelona, Spain (and specifically the Eixample gay neighborhood) are perfect for a vacation. Restaurants, bars, transit, and more are within steps of each other and you can even walk to some of the main attractions. Keep at the Axel Hotel and appreciate the nightly events at the Sky Bar, make fresh friends at breakfast, work out at the huge gym, and more. Axel is an Homosexual hotel chain with hotels all over Europe and in Miami Beach. However, everyone is welcome there. Their motto is “we are hetero friendly.” Staff is very supportive with travel tips and things to do.

Barcelona is an LGBTQ+ city paradise at bargain prices. Its architecture is stunning. The people are well dressed, with interesting haircuts (very short on the side).

With the euro at par with the US dollar, drinks at a bar are just 5 euros. Enjoy a think of meal with wine for under US$25. Get the exceptional 5-day transit transfer for just US$20 (including from the airport).

Barcelona remined me of a enormous city version of Puerto Vallarta or LA with greater transit.

The people are friendly, but you will have to adjust to t

Eixample Gay Guide

Also known as Gaixample, Eixample Neighborhood is where the heart of Gay Barcelona is located. The district is known to host most of Barcelona's gay bars, gay cruising spots, saunas, and clubs, so it's also where gay visitors of Barcelona reside during their vacations.

The best day to visit is the summer months, when the gays congregate from all over the society to wear as little as possible and get as shut to each other as feasible. The neighbourhood is filled with gay locals who embrace the festivities and meet gays from all over the world during the international celebrations. These locals are the same ones who are incredibly friendly to tourists and easy to strike up in conversation.

A gay in Eixample who is single and ready to mingle is definitely going to do a lot more than mingle. With the plethora of gay beaches, cafes, bars, clubs, and hangout spots, you are guaranteed to find yourself a man with ease. The queer nightlife is epic, with homosexual bars and events all over the neighbourhood and gays wandering the streets looking for fun.

The most popular gay events in Barcelona have events in Eixample and the nightlife gets hyped for thes

Is Eixample Area In Barcelona a "Gay Area" or Suitable For Everyone?

Q: We plan to rent an apartment. Someone recommended Eixample rather than Las Ramblas or the Gothic Quarter. We are in our 50's and open-minded, but I include heard Eixample referred to as Gay-xiample. Are there certain parts of Eixample that are exclusively gay areas and where we might feel out of place? If so, which parts? We like shops, restaurants, bars and modernist architecture. Are there differences between Eixample Izquierda & Derecha?

A: You won't have any problems with choosing your accommodation in Eixample. Eixample has some bars and clubs that are geared towards the gay community; however, Eixample is by no means categorized as a "gay area" and to label it as such is wholly inaccurate. I am aware of the nickname "Gay-Xiample" and other websites referring to it as such; however
