Days 1-2: Giza and the Pyramids!

We reach at Cairo Airport, then meet our transfer driver to cross the Nile to Giza. The first two nights will be at the lovely Mena House Hotel. We will have time to appreciate its attractive gardens, terraces, and fine restaurants, overlooking the grand pyramids at Giza. Tonight, we will gather for a reception and Welcome Dinner at our hotel as we begin our journey into Egyptian history and culture.

The next morning after breakfast, we will take the short drive to watch the plateau dominated by the pyramids of Khufu (Cheops in Greek), Khafre (Chephren), and Menkaure (Mykerinus), and by the Sphinx. We will then top to the new Grand Egyptian Museum, to view the sections that are open.

For those with a little more time, we are also offering pre-tour extension, including an extra night or two at the Mena House.
