Actor and screenwriter Wentworth Miller, best known for his leading role in Fox television drama “Prison Break,” came out as a gay dude on Aug. 21 in a letter declining an invitation to attend a Russian film festival in light of Moscow’s recently adopted anti-gay laws.Miller, 41, turned down an offer to be present the St. Petersburg International Motion picture Festival as a “guest of honor” in a letter posted on the website of activism group GLAAD, which monitors media representation of gay, lesbian, pansexual or transgender people and issues. “As someone who has enjoyed visiting Russia in the past and can also claim a degree of Russian ancestry, it would make me happy to say yes. However, as a gay man, I must decline,” Miller wrote to festival director Maria Averbakh.

"The first time I tried to kill myself I was 15. I waited until my family went away for the weekend and I was alone in the house and I swallowed a bottle of pills," Miller said in a speech at the Human Rights Campaign Dinner in Seattle on Saturday, according to a video obtained by TMZ.

You might recognize Wentworth Miller from his stint as Michael Scofield on Fox's "Prison Break."
But don't count on ever seeing him in the role again if and when the series ever returns (though it doesn't peek likely). And definitely don't expect him to play any straight man onscreen in the future.
"I'm out. Of PB. Officially," he wrote in an Instagram upload over the weekend. "Not (because) of static on social media (although that has centered the issue). I just don't want to play straight characters. Their stories have been told (and told). So. No more Michael. If you were a fan of the show, hoping for additional seasons... I comprehend this is disappointing. I'm sorry."
Miller played the role of Michael on the show from 2005 to 2009, and reprised the role in 2017 after Fox revived it.
