LGBT History of Superheroes: Wiccan

Kicking off my list is my favourite LGBT superhero, Billy Kaplan aka Wiccan.

Being openly gay from a young age, Billy was regularly bullied and ridiculed at school for his homosexuality. One day he unknowingly came into contact with his biological mother Scarlet Witch who seemingly activated his mutant powers of reality warping also known as magic which he demonstrated by nearly killing his bullies.

Billy is an adopted child created by Scarlet Witch from two fragments of the demon Mephisto’s soul as one of twin sons for her and then husband Vision. However Mephisto managed to reabsorb the fragments but destroyed himself in the process due to the power Scarlet Witch embued in them which in turn created Billy and twin brother Tommy aka Speed.

Billy discovered his true parentage after joining the Young Avengers, who are essentially fanboys, girl and proteges of the Avengers. The mystery was unravelled in the crossover story Avengers: The Children’s Crusade, which saw Billy reunite with his mother after she regained her memory.

As well as his true parentage, Wiccan’s other main storyline is his relationship with teammate and boyf

Gay Wicca Groups

There are some Wiccan Covens and traditions that are specifically created for same-sex attracted Wicca. We'll move over these in a moment. First, I'd like to remind you that it's not a necessity to participate a Wiccan coven or Circle. A lot of Wiccans celebrate on their own. See this article on Covens, Circles, & Solitary Wicca Practiceto uncover out more. And a lot of gay Wiccans attach "regular" covens, integrating naturally into the mix. But if you want to join a same-sex attracted Wicca group, you'll want to comprehend what's available. These are the ones I'm aware of.

Wicca For Gay Women

There is a long-standing branch known as Dianic Wicca. Dianic Wiccans can be found all over North America, and many other places. While not practiced exclusively by lesbians, Dianic Wicca Circles are women-only. These Circles are almost always welcoming of various sexual orientations. The main difference in Dianic Wicca is the lack of gender polarities, striving for a balance of force equality, and often only the Goddess - in Her many forms - is worshipped. Dianic Wicca is particularly appealing to gay women because of its feminist, ecological perspective. And many, if not most, Dianic Wicca Coven

Wiccan Makes His MCU Debut as Joe Locke's "Teen" Character Reveals Identity in Agatha All Along

The following story contains spoilers for episode 5 of Agatha All Along, "Darkest Hour / Rouse Thy Power."

IT'S BEEN CLEAR from the very start that Agatha All Along was building toward a big reveal with "Teen," as played by Joe Locke, and at the termination of the show's fifth episode, "Darkest Hour / Wake Thy Power," we finally got it. The twisty-turny episode featured just about everything you could desire in your spooky mid-October content: a Ouija board, ghosts, possessions, and, of course, a scheming coven of witches, each with their own agenda.

And while no one who watched WandaVision would be surprised for Agatha Harkness (Kathryn Hahn) to own her own sinister (or, at least, selfish) agenda, the termination of the episode—revealing "Teen"'s dominance and identity—makes for a huge splash that should change the path for Agatha All Along and the all of its characters for the duration of the show.

Here's how it all played out. After the latest trial along the Witches Road found Agatha and the Coven attempting to communicate with

Billy Kaplan always knew that he was distinct from other kids, and he had no problem with that. It was them who had a problem with him. In particular, a school bully named John Kessler.

After one such experience, leaving Billy bruised and bloody, Billy went to slouch in his favourite spot to serene down and sort himself out; outside the Avengers Mansion. He was soon asked by a runner if he was okay, as he was bleeding. Replying that he thought it had stopped, he was amazed to observe that the carrier was in reality Wanda Maximoff, a.k.a. The Scarlet Witch, Billy’s favourite Avenger.

She talked with Billy and told him to stand his ground, which Billy seemed to ponder was a needy plan. She insisted that he did have powers and then proceeded to heal Billy of all visible signs of injury.

Of course, Billy did no such thing. He avoided Kessler quite successfully, until he found the bully had a modern victim. Whilst he could never remain up for himself, he certainly could stand up for other people. When Kessler attacked Billy, Billy lashed out and almost killed him with new-found lightening powers. Terrified by what had almost happened, he ran all the way to the Avengers Mansion, which
