He’s seen in many Hallmark movies enjoy The Christmas House and its sequel and was most recently a cast member on the series Chesapeake Shores. He had portrayed Major Lilywhite on The CW’s comedy-drama series iZombie from 2015 through 2019.
But I became aware of Robert back in 2007 when he was part of the cast of the delicious Lipstick Jungle that sadly, only lasted two seasons. He then went on to develop a regular on the drama One Tree Hill for that show’s ultimate three seasons and was a cast member on the series 666 Park Avenue which only lasted one season.
Buckley’s first big shatter came when hew was cast as one of the leads in the nighttime soap opera Fashion House starring Bo Derek which ran for three months in 2006 followed by the three month soap American Heiress. The shows were part of a English-language telenovela experiment.

Buckley had no idea that teaming with Hallmark would become a major career move, yet while shooting the first Christmas House he knew it was something special. "I'm being completely transparent when I say I didn't wait for them to state they had an interest in [another]," he admitted. "While shooting the first one, I was thinking of what we could do for a sequel. To me, it was immediately clear we had something that could be more than one show. Filming it, I was caring of brainstorming ideas with a couple of the Hallmark execs, lightheartedly, batting around ideas.
"After the first one was well-received, the time was right and there was a space to pitch this," he continued. "They were immediately like, 'Absolutely. We're doing that.' I think I had an hour phone call with Kate Redinger, an exec whose kind of the backbone of it, and Erin Rodman, the writer. Within that hour we had the outline that was pitched, and they greenlit it."

That was something Buckley (pictured at superior, left) wanted to fetch to the screen. “This feels like something that should have happened 20 years ago,” he said. “I'm glad it's finally happening. When I pitched the movie, I assess it was the second thing I said because I wanted to be very upfront about it. It was really crucial to me that we show a gay couple in the exact identical way we’d portray a straight couple. To me it was overdue. “Pitching it, I pretty much led with that,” he continued. “I was thinking if they're not on board, it's cool, we’ll comprehend right away, and also what a great reason to get shot down. But the opposite happened. Kate Redinger, an executive on Love in Store, had heard about this family tradition I had (of completely transforming our house for Christmas) and reached out to seek if I’d be interested in going to lunch and talking about it. The Christmas House features a storyline about a gay couple looking to adopt their first child. Bennett’s husband will be played by cutie pie Brad Harder (pictured below). Bennett’s brother will be played by Robert Buckley of One Wood Hill and Lipstick Jungle fame. He’s a longtime infatuation and I consideration you all would enjoy a shirtless pic of Mr. Buckley. Hallmark has had a woeful write down when it comes to diversity and LGBT inclusion so this is a nice start. Rival network Lifetime announced last week that real-life married actors Ben Lewis and Blake Lee had been tapped to luminary in The Christmas Setup, its first-ever romantic holiday feature featuring a queer couple lead.
